AptHost Update For May

Hi everyone!

It has been a great few months for AptHost and we hope you are all seeing the results! We will be posting an update each month so you can see what we are working on and what we have completed.

So what have we been working on the last few months?

We have hired a lot more people and you should notice that live chat, phone support, and ticket/email support is a lot faster. We are now up to a total of 46 people!

We have implemented a new backup system and now all our shared and reseller customers are on it and protected with several snapshots daily, weekly, and monthly!

We have been working very hard to improve server performance. The previous owners put too many customers per server so we have been moving a lot of people to brand new servers to make sure performance is fantastic for everyone! If you are having any problems please email support to get some help! We are available 24/7.

Over the next month you are going to see some exciting changes to our VPS hosting to offer some great new features. We are currently testing some new VPS software that will allow us to offer more templates, improved streaming performance, and a lot more.

If you have any comments, suggestions, requests, questions, or any thoughts you’d like to share, we’d love to hear from you! Please feel free to email us at Ben@AptHost.com or Joel@AptHost.com any time. Also, we’ll monitor the comments section of this blog, so feel free to express any questions or thoughts here.

Thanks,
Ben and Joel

Excellent work guys! Im not only very happy to be hosted by Apthost but also think you’re probably one of the best hosting companies now available. Support is definitely absolutely fantastic and I cannot recommend you highly enough. Keep up the great work and a massive thanks to all your staff who have bent over backwards to accommodate me and my web hosting needs.

    Hi,

Great to read of the progress back to basics. I agree that downtime is reduced but see no improvement in load times for our wp sites. Having been a reseller client for almost 2 years through the many dramas that contained and besides losing clients I still believe that you are getting it much better. I have only one site using vidiscript and that’s ok. The main problem surrounds our wp sites ~ 6 successful hacks have been carried out in the last month alone. Whilst I accept that php has many vulnerabilities I would like to be assured that wp (with around 20 million users) can be hosted by you on servers optimised for its use. This is critical to our future relationship. I do accept secondary security lies with us but primary server security is my first priority. Do you have a plan to reassure me about security – load-time optimisation?
Also working with google labs on the wp load issues.
    Best regards,

    Hi Peter,

Sorry we didn’t get a notification on this comment.

The important thing is you have to keep WordPress up to date, the only way its hacked is if you are not keeping it up to date, or if you are leaving it the wrong permissions.

There are no security problems on the server and this is due to not keeping the software up to date, please email me at Ben@AptHost.com if you have any questions, or hit up support for any help,
    Thanks, Ben

Congratulations for the upgrades and improvements you’ve made firstly to your servers and probably the most important part to your customer support department . Things are working well and it’s always time to get better once you’re on the road to succes .
